Yes, I can maintain social distance while photographing your family!

OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR OUTDOOR SESSIONS

Great news from the kind folks at the State of Connecticut Joint Information Center on COVID-19: Photographers can go ahead and have a social distance photo sessions, outdoors, using the guidelines from the state.

Since I have a BIG lens, my outside family photo sessions have always been done from more than the guidelines suggest. The only difference now is that I can’t get in close to give directions, and I can’t high five and hug when we’re all done.

now officially open for social distance photo sessions in Connecticut

When Connecticut started to open up, I assumed that outdoor photo sessions would be allowed under the official guidelines.

But, when I did a little research to check and make sure that I was in compliance of all rules and regulations, there was nothing about photography. Restaurants, offices, and hair salons all had very specific information on how to move forward, but I was left wondering what to do.

I looked through all the online information put out by the state and found nothing to make me feel that I was not taking risk in resuming photo sessions. I googled it, I asked other photographers, still nothing.

Lucky for me that I found an email address for questions about reopening, and gave it a try. My question about social distance photo sessions was quickly replied to by some kind essential employee of CT.

And the answer is…. YES! Go ahead and get back to work!

This is the best news that I’ve heard in almost 3 months! Can’t wait to see you all.
