A Beach Photo Session is Always a Hit with Kids and Parents

If you’re a beach lover (like I am) you want to pass down your love of the seashore with your kiddos. That’s why some of the most authentic family photos are taken at a beach photo session. There are tons of great beaches in Darien, Greenwich, Trumbull, and all around Fairfield County to take advantage of.
From the end of August, and well into September, the beaches are a LOT less crowded and perfect for a beach photo session. The light at the beach at the end of the summer is a photographer’s dream. The “Golden Hour” — the time right before sunset — when the light is warm and dreamy, will add an extra layer of gorgeous to your family portraits.
Not all great photos are posed! Kids being kids are my specialty.

OK, that sounds good, but what is a beach photo session really like?
First of all, I’m not a super hero, I can’t do this alone. I want your family photo session to be enjoyable for everyone in your family, including you. That’s why I bring an assistant (usually my DH) with me to every family session. That way, you can relax while we kid wrangle, and wipe runny noses.
Usually sessions are more like hanging out at the beach for a while with a lady with a camera. I love going on beach treasure hunts and getting sandy and sweaty. Sure, we’ll do some posing and fussing to make sure we get the photos on your priority list, but most of that will be mixed in with rock throwing, crab picking and just having a good time.
